Project Legacy Launcher

The launcher will install the custom executable, set the realmlist, verify patch files, and keep your Project Legacy client updated.

Setup Steps

  1. Get a clean World of Warcraft Vanilla 1.12.1 client. Project Legacy cannot provide the game client, so you will need to source this yourself.
  2. Download the Project Legacy launcher from this page.
  3. Open the launcher and select your clean WoW 1.12.1 folder.
  4. Allow the launcher to set the realmlist, install the custom executable, and verify required patch files.
  5. Log in with your verified Project Legacy account.
Manual Download (Advanced)
Using the launcher is strongly recommended. Manual installation does not automatically verify or update your files. You must download and replace every changed Project Legacy file whenever an update is released. Missing or outdated files can cause errors, crashes, incorrect game data, or prevent you from connecting.

Required Files

Download every file below and place it in the correct location inside a clean World of Warcraft 1.12.1 client.

WoW-modified.exe Place in the main World of Warcraft folder. patch-D.mpq Place in the Data folder. Patch-M.mpq Place in the Data folder. patch-P.mpq Place in the Data folder.

Realmlist

Open realmlist.wtf in your main World of Warcraft folder and replace its contents with:

set realmlist play.projectlegacy.pro

Manual Installation Steps

  1. Start with a clean World of Warcraft Vanilla 1.12.1 client.
  2. Download WoW-modified.exe and place it in the main World of Warcraft folder beside WoW.exe.
  3. Download patch-D.mpq, Patch-M.mpq, and patch-P.mpq, then place them inside the client's Data folder.
  4. Edit realmlist.wtf so it contains only set realmlist play.projectlegacy.pro.
  5. Launch the game using WoW-modified.exe, not the original WoW.exe.
  6. Whenever Project Legacy is updated, return to this page and replace all updated files before launching the game.
